Server Core is a new minimal operating system installation option included in Windows Server 2008. A Server Core installation provides a minimal environment for running specific server roles such as Windows Server Virtualization (WSV), Active Directory (AD), Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Windows Internet Name Service (WINS), Media Services, and File and Print Server, reducing the servicing and management requirements and the attack surface for those server roles. In this demo, you will learn how to perform initial configuration of the Server Core installation, start server roles, and manage a Server Core server.
